For being over 47 years old the Cordell Christian Home is holding up extremely well. There are no major damages to the building and it is still a safe and comfortable haven for our residents. However, things have changed since the 1960's and the board of directors realize the need to update. A new renovation plan for the Cordell Christian Home was approved to create a more home-like environment for our residents and staff for the future. The first steps that the Cordell Christian Home took were to hire Prime Time Environments LLC and Kenyon Morgan Architects PLLC to assemble a plan from start to finish.
Prime Time Environments saw the potential of the Cordell Christian Home and the need for a “facelift”. The new building project will not only make institutional living a thing of the past but also help CCH employees build stronger relationships with residents, open up universal caregiver practices, generate less employee turnover, and create more comfortable living environments for our residents.
Kenyon Morgan Architects drew up the new plans seen above. Within this new facility there will be a new drive under canopy, additional office space, improved beauty salon, centrally-located therapy room, employee break room, enhanced Alzheimer unit, new HVAC system, 24 additional private rooms in a new south wing and another 24 in a new north wing (which configure into 4 households of 12 rooms each), and the replacement of insufficient windows, flooring, and light fixtures.
Construction on the Cordell Christian Home’s building project is hoped to begin soon! We can’t wait to see what the future will bring and we hope that you are part of it!
